Santa Clara Vanguard 40th Anniversary
40 years of tradition, class and excellence!
2007 marks a pinnacle for the Santa Clara Vanguard as we celebrate our 40th anniversary! Since 1967, the Santa Clara Vanguard has built a strong tradition of excellence, innovation and leadership. Perhaps the most beloved of all drum corps, the Vanguard consistently ranks at the top of the activity with six Drum Corps International World Championships and 34 consecutive finalist appearances. The Santa Clara Vanguard is the first and only organization in Drum Corps International history to have two drum and bugle corps in the elite Division I Top 17.
 To celebrate our annivesary and honor our rich tradition, we are in the process of planning events throughout the year. Currently events planned include:
 SCV Birthday Dinner on March 25th
Spring Concert at Concord Pavilion on May 6th
DCI West Regional at Stanford Stadium on August 4th
 Get FIRST ACCESS to tickets by joining the Star Club!
40th Anniversary Celebration Banquet on August 5th
Reserve rooms for the weekend at the Santa Clara Marriott!

1st Annual Vanguard Golf Classic on August 6th
We are also very fortunate this year to have the 2007 DCI World Championship on the west coast for the first time! The Rose Bowl in Pasadena will be buzzing with drum corps the week of August 6th - 11th. Remember after this summer, the World Championships will be in Indianapolis for 10 years. This makes it a great year to take an extended vacation and travel throughout the west coast and California, taking in the sights and sounds and August drum corps at its finest.
While you are in Northern California for the DCI West Regional, you are invited to join us for our anniversary celebrations. Afterwards, enjoy the attractions between the Bay Area and Southern California as you make your way to Pasadena.
The Santa Clara Vanguard Alumni Corps is gathering together once again to perform at the DCI West Regional. They will be joining the members of the 2007 Vanguard on the field for a combined SCV 40th Anniversary celebration. Afterwards, we'll share the field with the Blue Devils' A-Corps and Alumni Corps for a joint performance to celebrate the anniversaries of both organizations.
